Our inspiration for the feel/groove of this song comes from mixing a couple things. There’s a little bit of ‘Brick House’ by The Commodores and a little bit of ‘I Wish’ by Stevie Wonder.

This is one of the easier arrangements in the series. There is one 12 bar ad lib solo, but we provide a written out solo for that section in case your players can’t improvise or would like a little direction for their own solo. Then there’s a rhythm vs. the horns kick section where there’s a solo trumpet playing over top. That trumpet solo is optional. It’s not needed as this section is really band vs horns. Why is it there? Because I had Steve Patrick in the recording session and I wanted to hear a couple high notes. What can I say? I’m a trumpet player.

INSTRUMENTATION:2 trumpets, 2 trombones, 2 saxes and rhythm

ADDITIONAL INSTRUMENTATION:Flute 1 & 2, Oboe, Clarinet 1 & 2, Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello and Bass

A  written out piano part and bass part are provided. Some tutorial videos for your drummer are available on our YouTube channel. We also have written out suggested solos for any of the ad lib solo sections in case your players can’t improvise.
