Description

I think the first chart I played in jazz band in high school was In the Stone. It’s the quintessential Earth, Wind and Fire song. Pure Classic. Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee is a pure classic hymn all the way back to Mr. Beethoven. I thought it would be cool to create an arrangement of Joyful, Joyful that is inspired by In the Stone. It’s the straight up melody of Joyful, Joyful, but the groove/feel is in the style of In the Stone.

This one builds like crazy. We have played this live at The People’s Church and the folks LOVED it! We ended up with a standing ovation, as a matter of fact.

We did the recording in the key of B, BUT we are providing both the original key of B and lowered a half step to Bb. The Bb version will be easier for the brass guys to play. Even if you decide to use the Bb version, have them play through it at least once or twice in B just to work on their sight reading in B(You get both B and Bb versions).

This should be the opening for your worship service or live concert. EVERYONE will love this one!
