OK…this is my favorite one. I really am a huge fan of John Barry who just recently passed away. John Barry was an amazing film composer having scored over 100 films in his lifetime. His ‘signature sound’ is a wide, sweeping sort of feel. His 2 most famous scores in that style are ‘Dances With Wolves’ and ‘Out of Africa’. The John Barry sound seemed like a perfect fit for this warm and loving hymn. No matter what is going on, you always have Jesus to wrap around you in an all encompassing love. His expansive, unending love seemed an appropriate fit with this sweeping and lush arrangement.
This will be a great offertory but because of the style of this arrangement, it would be a welcome fit in any concert setting. If Carter Burwell can fill ‘True Grit’ with hymns, you can certainly perform this beautiful arrangement in ANY venue.
This arrangement may be played by a string quintet or ensemble.
Instrumentation: Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Bass, 2 Stave Percussion, Timpani and multiple string synth parts.
The 4 String Synth Parts included are:
Violin 2/Viola, Viola/Cello, Cello/Bass and Viola/Bass
