This arrangement is Rhythm Driven and features a Horn Section. This is a rhythm section feature. The horns do not play the melody (guitar and keys are feature instruments).

The horn section serves as a cool ‘Chicago’ style horn section back-up for this arrangement.

For the blended and contemporary worship styles, this arrangement is a perfect way to introduce the horn section.

This arrangement is in the key of D

Instrumentation Description:

Guitars:
An Electric Guitar is the primary feature for this tune. The melody is written out for the guitar player and he can listen to the recording.

Piano/Keys:
B-3 (Keys) take the melody in the bridge section. The entire B-3 part is written out so you can play it on any keyboard with a decent B-3 sound. There is no acoustic piano on this recording (they would play the B-3 part on synth).

Drums:
This is a straight ahead rock groove that really drives.

Bass:
The chorus has a moving 8th grove that helps the drummer drive the tune. A written out bass part with chords is provided (‘could’ use synth bass if you don’t have a live one).

Horn Section:
This is not a difficult piece for the horn section. The Chicago-style of horn writing is a lot of unison/octave lines with scoops and bends. The lead trumpet’s highest note is a written B. The lead trombone has a number optional sections to play up an octave. The trombone up an octave is what gives it that “Chicago” feel. If your trombone player can’t do that, just have him play it as is. There are some great hits (brass stabs) that really make this tune high on energy. Your brass guys will love playing this style and this tune.

Instrumentation is: 2 trumpets, alto sax, tenor sax, 2 trombones and rhythm section. A written out piano part AND bass part are provided with this arrangement. For copyright reasons, this arrangement can only be shipped (no download/email).

There is a congregational version of every arrangement included as well. The congregational version is in “G” and includes a lead vocal line. Use the instrumental feature version as an opener to the service and then use the congregational version during the worship service.

All arrangements are $40 each, which includes the Full Instrumental Feature version AND the Congregational Version.
