Description

I’m a trumpet player. I grew up playing trumpet (born in 1970). OBVIOUSLY, Chicago had a tremendous impact on my trumpet playing. I had to throw 1 song in this series that had a ‘Chicago’ type sound. I remember singing the horn lick in my head and I got so excited because I couldn’t wait to hear the studio guys play it. It’s EXACTLY what I was looking for. If you want your guys to play a Chicago type tune, this is the one!

I did, by the way, have the rhythm section play a little 4 on the floor vibe sort of like The Bee Gees’ Staying Alive. Yep…I went there. 🙂

This arrangement is easy to play and the brass licks really lay well on the horns.

INSTRUMENTATION:2 trumpets, 2 trombones, 2 saxes and rhythm

ADDITIONAL INSTRUMENTATION:Flute 1 & 2, Oboe, Clarinet 1 & 2, Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello and Bass

A  written out piano part and bass part are provided. Some tutorial videos for your drummer are available on our YouTube channel. We also have written out suggested solos for any of the ad lib solo sections in case your players can’t improvise.
